Natural Science - Reptiles and amphibians

Good morning class!!

Today we've got some awesome activities to keep learning about the Animal Kingdom. We are going to learn about two new Animal Classes:

Reptiles and amphibians!

Reptiles and amphibians are both vertebrates, and they are oviparous, which means that they reproduce laying eggs. They can look very similar, but they have some characteristics that may help us difference them.

Los reptiles y los anfibios son los dos vertebrados, y son ovíparos, lo que significa que se reproducen poniendo huevos. Se parecen mucho, pero tienen algunas características que nos ayudan a diferenciarlos.

🐊 🐍 Reptiles 🐢 🐲

→ They can live on the land, like lizards and snakes, or in the water, like turtles.

Pueden vivir en la tierra, como los lagartos y las serpientes, o en el agua, como las tortugas.

→ They have cold blood.

Tienen la sangre fría.

→ They have dry skin covered with scales.

Están recubiertos de escamas.

🐸 🐸 Amphibians 🐸 🐸

→ They can live in the water or on the land, like frogs.

Pueden vivir en el agua o en la tierra, como las ranas.

→ At the beginning of their lives they breathe with gills, and develop lungs when they are older.

Al principio de sus vidas respiran a través de branquias, y desarrollan pulmones cuando crecen.

→ They have moist skin.

Tienen la piel húmeda.

Once you've finished the activity, you have to play a game where you need to guess the animals names. And also, there are two animals that are not reptiles or amphibians. Can you tell which ones they are?

Una vez que hayáis terminado el ejercicio, tenéis que jugar a un juego en el que tenéis que adivinar los nombres de los animales. Además, hay dos animales que no son reptiles ni anfibios. ¿Sabríais decir cuáles son?
